Terms and Conditions of Reward Redemption and Account Linkage

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully. By linking your accounts and/or confirming a reward redemption through AEON Credit Service (Asia) Co., Ltd. (“AEON”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and any participating merchant (“Participating Merchant(s)”)’s App or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms with AEON.

1. YOUR AEON BONUS POINT (“Point(s)”)

1.1 Point Issuance: The earning and accumulation of your Points are governed entirely by the terms and conditions of AEON Bonus Point Program and each respective Participating Merchant’s loyalty program. Please refer to the terms and conditions of the relevant program you joined for all Point-issuance policies.

1.2 Point Processing Timelines: Different sources systems require varying processing intervals, there may be a delayed display of newly earned Points. Conversely, any Point used or redeemed will be instantly deducted and updated immediately.

1.3 Point Display by Customer Type: Point data will be displayed, including earned, redeemed, available Point balances, and respective Point expiry date, according to your Customer Type as verified:

1.3.1 For Non-Linked Customers (Type 1 or 2): Point data will be displayed associated solely with that respective, individual Point account.

1.3.2 For Linked Customers (Type 3): An overview of Point data consolidated across all inked accounts will be displayed.

1.4 Expansion and Participation: These Terms apply to any and all subsequent Participating Merchants that join over time.

2. YOUR CUSTOMER TYPE STATUS

System automatically checks your current records and recognizes you as one of three customer types (“Customer Type(s)” as explained below):

2.1 Type 1: AEON Customer: AEON customer holding an eligible AEON Credit Card account that remains valid and in normal status and in good standing, and whose status has successfully verified through the system.

2.2 Type 2: Merchant Customer: Merchant customer holding a valid account or membership of a Participating Merchant, and whose status has successfully verified through the system.

2.3 Type 3: Linked Customer: Your status will automatically change to a Linked Customer after you have successfully performed and completed the irreversible account linkage described in Section 3, provided that the linked accounts are valid and the associated eligible AEON Credit Card account remains valid and in normal status and in good standing.

3. LINKING YOUR ACCOUNTS

If you choose to link your AEON Credit Card account and different respective Participating Merchant’s accounts or memberships together to combine your Points, the following rules apply:

3.1 Linkage Initiation & Authentication: To initiate an account linkage, you must access the relevant account linkage page on the platform. Identity authentication and security checks are required during this process, to ensure you are the rightful owner of all accounts. After your accounts are successfully linked, all Points from your individual accounts will be combined, and managed together as a unified balance.

3.2 Customer Responsibility for Information Accuracy: It is your sole responsibility to ensure the accuracy, validity, and completeness of all information you provide to us during the linkage process. If any information you provide is inaccurate, expired and/or incomplete, we and our Participating Merchants may be unable to successfully link the accounts.

3.3 Linkage is Irreversible: Except for the specific termination events outlined in section 3.4 below, once the account linkage process is successfully completed, it is permanent and irreversible. You cannot undo, cancel, or disconnect the linkage between these accounts.

3.4 Account Unlinking Triggers and Point Adjustment: An automated account unlinking process will only be initiated if you cancel/terminate your linked AEON Credit Card account or Participating Merchant’s account or membership. Upon the occurrence of such unlinking events, any Points accrued from that respective deactivated account will instantly cease to be displayed, combined, or managed.

4. THE BONUS POINT CATALOGUE

4.1 Redemption Platform: You can use your accumulated Points to redeem rewards (“Reward(s)”) listed on the “Bonus Point Catalogue”.

4.2 Redemption Methods: Each Reward in the catalogue will have its own specified fulfilment and redemption method. These include, but are not limited to:

4.2.1 Online Redemption: This includes, without limitation, e-coupons issued instantly, the conversion of Points to mileage, the payment of membership fees for different tiers of AEON Stores’ AEON memberships or “Pay with Points”.

4.2.1.1 The “Pay with Points” feature is applicable for use at physical AEON Stores by presenting the QR Code. Redemptions under this feature must be made in designated Point multiples, as specified on the transaction interface and modified from time to time.

4.2.1.2 Redemptions using “Pay with Points” are subject to maximum transaction limit per single purchase as well as cumulative daily usage limit per individual customer.

4.2.1.3 All applicable Point multiples, maximum single transaction limit, and daily cumulative usage limit for “Pay with Points” are determined at the sole discretion of AEON and are subject to adjustment at any time without prior notice.

4.2.2 Offline Pick-Up: Requiring you to collect the physical Reward from a designated merchant location or counter.

4.2.3 Delivery: Where physical Rewards are delivered directly to a designated address.

4.2.4 Bonus Point Credit Rebate: Where Points are converted into monetary value credited back to an eligible AEON Credit Card account (Applicable to AEON Customer (Type 1) and Linked Customer (Type 3)).

4.2.5 Donation: Where you can choose to donate a specified value of Points to third-party organizations, charities, or non-profit entities listed in Bonus Point Catalogue.

4.3 Payment and Settlement Options: Depending on the individual listing rules of the Reward and your Customer Type, redemption can be made through the following settlement options:

4.3.1 Points only: Applicable to all Rewards and open to all Customer Types.

4.3.2 Points + AEON Credit Card Payment: A co-payment potion allows you to settle a portion of the required value using Points and the remaining portion using a valid and eligible AEON Credit Card. This option is applicable and restricted to AEON Customers (Type 1) and Linked Customers (Type 3) only.

4.4 Stock Availability: Unless otherwise specified, all Rewards in the ‘Bonus Point Catalogue” are only available while stocks last.

4.5 Updates and Substitutions: We and our Participating Merchants reserve the right to change the list of Rewards available for redemption from time to time without prior notice. Where necessary, we and/or the respective merchants may make substitutions or replacements to the list of Rewards for redemption without prior notice.

4.6 Merchant Closure: Rewards shall be terminated or cease to be available immediately upon the commercial closure or termination of participation of the merchant. No prior notice will be given.

4.7 Targeted Visibility Settings: You do not automatically see every Reward available on the platform. The Rewards displayed to you on the “Bonus Point Catalogue” are controlled entirely by the Reward Owner (AEON or the specific Participating Merchant providing that Reward). Each Reward Owner has the sole discretion to choose the visibility settings for their individual Rewards, including deciding exactly which Customer Type (Type 1, 2, 3) is allowed to view and redeem their Rewards.

4.8 Catalogue Accuracy: While every effort has been made to ensure that the information, Point values, and descriptions shown in the “Bonus Point Catalogue” are accurate, we are not responsible for any typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. AEON reserves the absolute right to make the final decision and rectify the situation if there is any inaccuracy, pricing mistake, or omission inside the catalogue.

4.9 Not the Supplier: AEON is not the supplier of the products, services, or charitable initiatives redeemable listed in the “Bonus Point Catalogue” and will not accept any liability in relation thereto. We make no representation or guarantee as to the quality, safety, specifications, design, or availability of the products and/or services supplied by third-party merchants, partners, or vendors.

4.10 Merchant Warranties: All representations and warranties relating to quality, design, specifications, and fitness for purpose or otherwise set out in the “Bonus Point Catalogue” in respect of such Rewards are made solely by the respective merchants supplying the Reward. Photos, descriptions, and item specifications listed are for reference only. All products, services and information are subject to those actually provided by the relevant merchant and shall prevail.

4.11 Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Rewards: We are not responsible or liable for any lost, damaged, or stolen Rewards (including physical vouchers, products, or e-coupons) once they have been successfully redeemed and issued through the platform.

4.12 Total Liability Indemnity: To the maximum extent permitted by law, AEON will not be responsible or liable for any death, injury, damage, or loss suffered by any customer or any third party, or any damage to their property, which is caused directly or indirectly by any of the Rewards provided to customers.

5. HOW YOUR POINTS ARE DEDUCTED

When you choose an available Reward from the “Bonus Point Catalogue” and click confirm, the system automatically calculates the most favourable way to use your Points based on your Customer Type. By making a redemption, you agree and accept to the following Point deduction rules:

5.1 For Non-Linked Customer (Type 1 or 2): The system will always look at your single Point account and use your earliest expiring Points first.

5.2 For Linked Customers (Type 3): When you combine your balances to redeem a Reward, the system will look at both or multiple point accounts and use this two-step rule:

5.2.1 Rule 1 (Earliest Expiry): The system automatically checks the expiry dates of the Points in both or multiple Point accounts and deducts Points from whichever Point account is expiring first.

5.2.2 Rule 2 (The Tiebreaker): If you have Points in both or multiple Point accounts that share the exact same expiry date, the system will look at who owns the Rewards you are redeeming. It will automatically deduct the Points from that Reward Owner’s point account first.

6. REDEMPTION CRITERIA & FINALITY

6.1 Accrued Points & Acceptance: All redemptions are strictly subject to the accumulated, active Points available in your balance at the exact time of the transaction and are subject to our final acceptance.

6.2 Automated Cancellation: If your Point balance is insufficient at the time the transaction is processed, your order will be cancelled automatically by the system.

6.3 No Amendments or Revocations: Once a redemption is successfully accepted, the Point deduction happens instantly. All redemptions are final and, once confirmed, may not be amended, cancelled, or revoked by you.

6.4 No Refunds: Points used to redeem a Reward cannot be refunded, recalculated, split back into the original account, exchanged for cash or exchanged for any other form of compensation.

6.5 Voluntary Data Provision: It may be necessary for you to provide us with certain personal data (including, but not limited to, your name, email address, physical delivery address, and relevant loyalty membership identification numbers) in order to successfully redeem specific Rewards. Providing this personal data is entirely voluntary; otherwise, we may not be able to complete the redemption.

6.6 Disclosure Consent: Upon any redemption of Rewards, you are deemed to have fully understood and irrevocably agreed to allow AEON to provide and disclose such information to third-party reward, loyalty, co-branding, and privileges programme providers for processing, delivery verification, and completion of the redemption fulfilment.

7. SUSPENSION & REINSTATEMENT OF REWARD REDEMPTION FUNCTION

We reserve the right to suspend your access to the Reward redemption function on this platform at any time without prior notice if we suspect fraud, manipulation, a breach of these Terms, or any security risks. Once the relevant risk has been resolved, we may reinstate your access to this function. We do not block page access to accounts that Reward redemption function has been suspended. Instead, the following conditional “Earn and Burn” rules apply depending on the status of your Reward redemption function of your account.

7.1 Reward Redemption Function Suspended for All Accounts (Non-Linked Customer or Linked Customer with all linked accounts suspended): If you are a Non-Linked Customer (Type 1 or 2) and your Reward redemption function is suspended, or if you are a Linked Customer (Type 3) and the Reward redemption function of all your linked accounts is suspended:

7.1.1 Earn:

7.1.1.1 For AEON Customers (Type 1): You can still continue to earn Points via eligible transactions executed using your eligible AEON Credit Card through the original AEON Bonus Point Program.

7.1.1.2 For Merchant Customers (Type 2): Your ability to continue earn Points through the merchant’s respective original loyalty programs depends on the specific terms, conditions, and suspension policies of that respective Participating Merchant.

7.1.1.3 For Linked Customers (Type 3): Your ability to continue earn Points with each of your individual account will vary subject to the specific rules outlined above.

7.1.2 Burn: Your access to the Reward redemption function will be completely suspended. You will be ineligible to complete any redemptions from the catalogues until the suspension is lifted.

7.2 Reward Redemption Function Suspended for Some Accounts (Linked Customer with at least one Active Account): If you are a Linked customer (Type 3) and the Reward redemption function of one or more of your linked accounts is suspended but you still have at least one active AEON Credit Card account or Participating Merchant’s accounts or memberships:

7.2.1 Earn: You can continue to earn Point from all active accounts normally based on AEON and respective Participating Merchant rules outlined under Section 7.1.1

7.2.2 Burn: You can still perform Reward redemption function. However, the system will only deduct the Points from your active AEON or Participating Merchant’s Point account. The combined Point feature will be temporarily restricted to active Point accounts only.

8. YOUR PRIVACY & USER BEHAVIOR TRACKING

By redeeming a Reward and/or linking your accounts, you acknowledge and consent to our data practices:

8.1 User Behaviour Tracking: To optimize your user experience, improve the platform's stability, and provide personalized catalogue offers, your behaviours on the platform will be tracked and recorded. This tracking includes monitoring the items you view, your clicks, navigation patterns, and redemption selections during your visit. This behavioural data is captured anonymously and is used for platform analytics and internal performance evaluation.

8.2 Data Privacy: Your personal data (such as your name, email address, or phone number) from any Participating Merchant's app, website or loyalty program will not be pulled, collected, tracked, or stored.

9. THIRD-PARTY BENEFITS AND COMMISSIONS

You explicitly acknowledge and agree that third parties (including Participating Merchants or vendors) may receive payments, such as remuneration, commissions, and rebates, or other benefits or advantages directly or indirectly from us in connection with these Terms, the platform mechanics, or catalogue redemptions. The nature, amount, and calculation method of any such benefits or advantages may vary from time to time. Such third parties are entitled to retain any such benefits or advantages for their own account and benefit absolutely, without any obligation to make any prior disclosure or notification to you.

10. DISPUTES, GOVERNING LAW AND VERSION PREVALENCE

10.1 Final Decision: In the event of any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, Point-unifying, catalogue contents, tracking policies, automated Point deduction, suspension and reinstatement of Reward redemption function, or data handling, the decision of AEON shall be final and binding on all parties.

10.2 These Terms shall be constructed and governed by the laws of Hong Kong and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

10.3 These Terms are written in English and may be translated into Chinese. The English version of these Terms shall prevail if there is any discrepancy or conflict between the English and Chinese versions.
